Formula E Secures Long-Term Agreement with FIA
A significant new agreement between the FIA and Formula E has extended their partnership for an additional 10 years, potentially lasting until 2053. This extension was announced as Formula E hosts its season finale in London and comes under the leadership of CEO Jeff Dodds, who took the role in May 2023. Formula E is primarily owned by Liberty Global, led by billionaire John C. Malone.
The deal aims to enhance the series' development strategy, focusing on advancements in racing car performance, including increased speeds and improved aerodynamics, which align with the growing electric vehicle market. Dodds emphasized that this extended agreement serves as a strong confidence booster for potential manufacturers considering entry into Formula E, highlighting the long-term commitment from both the FIA and Liberty Global. As the series concludes its 11th season, it has also announced an ambitious record schedule of 18 races for the upcoming 12th season, featuring a key event in Miami.
